Animal Crossing Character Costume:
October 2020
For Halloween 2020, I created a full character costume in the Animal Crossing style. The head is paper mache and the hair was created from fleece and wire. The dress was created from an existing pink dress, I painted the design on with acrylic paint and glued a hula hoop at the bottom to achive the desired cartoony look. The props were created with various materials I purchased from craft stores or the dollar store.
This is a paper mache head with mesh eye holes and a hot glue nose. The mouth is also a cutout. The hair is created from fleece fabric and wire glued to the underside to create the wavy texture. A hula hoop is glued to the underside of the dress and the design on the dress is painted on with acrylic paint.

I sewed a basic, yellow handkerchief and then hand-stitched a brown felt star onto the side. Then I filled this up with stuffing and tied it off with a red ribbon.
